FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament Schedules

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 produced seven directly qualified teams for the Tokyo Olympics, namely Argentina, Australia, France, Iran, Japan, Nigeria, Spain and USA. As the host of the event, Japan also received automatic qualification.


The four remaining places in the 12-team Tokyo Olympic field are reserved for the winners of each of the four FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT) that will simultaneously take place from June 29 to July 4. The four countries hosting the OQTs are Canada, Croatia, Lithuania and Serbia. Despite the postponement of the events in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers did not change the event name or logo.


CANADA:

The Victoria Memorial Arena in British Columbia, Canada will be the playing venue in Canada. The participating teams in Group A are Greece, China and Canada; while Group B will consist of Uruguay, Czech Republic and Turkey.

CROATIA:

The Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia will be the playing venue. Participating teams in Group A are Germany, Russia and Mexico; while participating teams in Group B are Tunisia, Croatia and Brazil.

LITHUANIA:

The Zalgirio Arena will be the playing venue in Kaunas, Lithuania. The participating teams in group A are Lithuania, Korea and Venezuela; while participating teams in Group B are Poland, Slovenia and Angola.

SERBIA:

The 16,500 capacity Belgrade Arena will be the playing venue in Serbia. Group A will be composed of Dominican Republic, Philippines and Serbia; while Group B will have Puerto Rico, Italy and Senegal.

Here is the OQT schedule for Serbia where Gilas Pilipinas will be playing.



The winner of the OQT in Canada will join Group A in Tokyo to go up against Iran, France and USA.

The winner of the OQT in Croatia and Serbia will join Group B in Tokyo and will be facing Australia and Nigeria.

The winner of the OQT in Lithuania will join Group C to go up against Argentina, host Japan and Spain.
