Marathoner gives 'Shoes of Joy' to inspire athletes
Mary Joy Tabal knows how hard it is to be an athlete, what more if you don't have the proper training gear. After seeing the young paddlers of the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. (PADS) training barefoot, she knew what she had to do,
Together with ASICS, Tabal donated 120 pairs of shoes to members of the PADS Youth Dragonboat team who are mostly persons with disability (PWD).
Aside from the #ShoesofJoy project, the 31-year old marathoner is well known for her charitable activities in Barangay Guba, Cebu, where she lives.
The 2017 SEA Games gold medalist is gearing up for the the Tokyo Marathon 2021 in October and the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Hanoi, Vietnam in November.
