SCENE: Philippine Beach Volleyball Team training bubble

The heat is on!

The Philippine beach volleyball team is training in a bubble paradise in scenic Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

The men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams will be leaving the country on June 14 to compete in the AVC Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from June 20 to 27. This will be their first competition under the newly formed Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF)

The event is a qualifying tournament for the Tokyo Olympics. If the Philippine teams make it through the semifinals, they would face either Thailand or Indonesia, who were automatically seeded slots in the final round for being the top two teams in the 2019 SEA Games in both the men’s and women’s divisions. The Philippines took the bronze in both the men’s and women’s division in that competition.
